Courtroom
Presentation
There is a significant benefit to having everyone see your photos
and documents at the same time as they are projected onto a large
presentation screen. Enlargements on poster board and hand written
remarks on white board might be better than just speaking, but they
pale compared to zooming in on specific sections of a document or
photograph, filling the screen completely with a specific image you
select.
Film
negatives can be shown as full size, positive-color images saving
the additional cost of photo lab work. X-rays and MRI films are presented
utilizing a backlit panel for maximum clarity and detail.
Presentation on the screen of handwriting samples, DNA evidence,
ballistics or three-dimensional objects at high magnification is significantly
more effective than passing it around the jury. Everyone in the court
is hearing and viewing at the same time.
All too often I have heard the other side start their closing arguments
with: "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I apologize. We didn't
come to court with a high tech, multimedia show like Mr./Ms. _______."
I'm not a lawyer, but that can't be an impressive opening. The most
glaring flaw in that excuse is it's not high tech at all, it's just
the same thing we all view every day...images projected onto a screen
and video, but in this case Certified Court Video
